In year 4, our writing genre for this term is instructional writing. Mr. McNamee demonstrated how to make treacle soda farls. After enjoying the hot bread with butter, the children wrote the recipe to practise instructional writing. They remembered to list the ingredients using quantities followed by the method in chronological order using imperative verbs.
