Year 6/7 Young Entrepreneurs

30th Mar 2019

Mrs Donaghy’s year 6/7 class have been very busy all month with their Younge Enterprise project. After a brainstorm session, the class decided they would make special Mother’s Day gifts.

Using recycled jars, a group of children painted and decorated them using decoupage and filled them with candles and sweets. Fortunately Cain Armstrong’s mum (who we discovered had a degree in art) was able to supervise the Creative team and they all did a fantastic job.

The class had a few ideas for names but Nora suggested Ishtar Jars. Not only does it rhyme, but Ishtar was a Babylonian Goddess of Love and it fitted in well with the theme of love/mothers.

Jenniffer designed a beautiful logo and Nora’s dad was able to turn it into a very professional digital image.

The jars sold out very quickly in school and the children will also be selling them in the Abbeycentre next week as part of the Young Enterprise trade fair.
