Our First Half Term in St James's Nursery Unit: A Wonderful Learning Journey

17th Nov 2025

What an incredible start to our Nursery adventure! Over the past few weeks, the children have settled beautifully into their new routines and embraced every opportunity to learn, play, and grow together.

We began with our theme ‘All About Me’, helping the children learn about themselves and each other. Through fun activities, we explored our likes, families, and what makes us unique. This theme was a fantastic way to build confidence and friendships as we started our journey together.

Next, we moved into ‘Amazing Autumn’, discovering the changes in nature all around us. The children loved exploring autumn colours, collecting leaves, and creating seasonal crafts. Outdoor learning was a big highlight—whether building in the sand house, riding bikes in the wheeled area, or spotting signs of autumn, every experience helped develop curiosity and teamwork.

We also celebrated Hallowe'en with lots of excitement! From spooky crafts and pumpkin play to dressing up and sharing themed stories, the children enjoyed a magical mix of creativity and fun.

Throughout the term, we’ve been singing songs, sharing stories, and learning new rhymes to support early communication and listening skills. These moments of music and movement have brought so much joy and energy to our days!

Thank you to all our families for your support during this first half term. We can’t wait to continue this exciting journey together as we move into the next term, full of new adventures and learning opportunities.

Here’s to more fun, friendships, and fantastic learning in Nursery!
