Huge congratulations to all of the children in Year 6 who took part in this year’s Poetry in Motion Schools programme, ‘Write to the Heart’, which was organised by the Community Arts Partnership. This year the children took part in a number of video workshops created by CAP’s poet facilitators. The children were delighted to witness their own everyday words and language transformed into amazing poetry. Several of the children’s poems were selected to be included in this year’s Poetry in Motion Schools anthology, which will be published later in the year. In addition, a video of each of the children reciting his or her poem was included in the Poetry in Motion Schools celebration event, held on the 25th March. We are very proud of the children who represented our school, both for the creation and the recital of their wonderful poems. We are especially proud of Monica who received a commendation for her poem The New School Year.
