Visit from Our Local Librarian – People Who Help Us
As part of our “People Who Help Us” topic, we were delighted to welcome Jacqui, our local librarian from Libraries NI, to visit our Nursery.
Jacqui talked to the children about the important role libraries play within our community and helped them understand that libraries are safe, welcoming places for everyone. She shared all the different ways libraries support us, including enjoying stories, playing games, accessing computers, and taking part in fun activities such as Lego clubs.
The children thoroughly enjoyed singing songs with Jacqui and taking part in a very engaging sensory story, which captured their attention and sparked lots of excitement and curiosity.
Jacqui also explained how children and families can join the library and borrow books to enjoy at home. She will be bringing forms back to Nursery for any families who would like their child to sign up and receive their own library card, helping to encourage a love of books and reading from an early age.
We would like to thank Jacqui for visiting our Nursery and sharing her time and enthusiasm with our children. It was a wonderful experience that supported our learning about community helpers and inspired excitement around stories and libraries.
